Prayer Shawl. There will be a prayer shawl meeting this Tuesday Oct. 3rd. at 6pm.
Charge Conference. Our charge conference will be October 22nd this year. We will have it right after our worship service. We will have worship service, charge conference and then a covered dish dinner. Alice Weaver Dunn will be with us that day. She will have the message for the worship service. Please see Bev Duncan with any questions about the dinner. Please plan on attending.
Children’s Church. We are in need of help for Children’s Church. There is a position for everyone. You can be a teacher for the week, a teacher’s assistant, or a nursery helper. A volunteer sheet is available on the divider. Please contact Amanda Duncan or Kendra McNutt with any questions.
Bible Study. Pastor Tom will begin a fall Book Study on “Discover Your Spiritual Gifts” by C. Peter Wagner. There will be a Tuesday afternoon session starting at 2:00pm on October 10th and an evening session on Thursday at 7:00pm October 12th. If you are interested in this study, please sign up for which ever session is best for you.
Operation Christmas Child 2017. Here are some dates to remember for the shoeboxes this year. Any questions please see Laurie Deem. Shipping Costs: $9 per box. Packed boxes due November 5th. Packing party November 5th. Blessing of the boxes November 12th.
East German Children’s Choir. The Conference Children’s Choir will tour Western Pa. September 30 through October 12, with full concerts in the Pittsburgh, Erie and Johnstown region. The local concert will be at Oakland UMC in Johnstown on Sunday, October 8 at 7pm. The concert is free with a love offering requested.
The Food Bank during the month of October is Stuffing Mix. Roger Brehm is the contact person. If you prefer to pay by check, make it payable to United Food Pantry. Continue to bring in your paper grocery bags. Please no plastic bags.
