Prayer Walk. On Thursday, May 24th (Aldersgate Day) the Western PA United Methodists are invited to join in prayer to lift up our Camping and Retreat ministries and everyone involved in them. A Prayer Walk, with two-hour segments scheduled consecutively at the camps and ministry sites, is planned so that those in each area 15pray wherever they are throughout the day. The schedule is as follows: Wesley Woods 8-10 am. Jumonville 10am-Noon. Olmsted Manor Noon-2pm. Camp Allegheny 2-4pm. Healthy Village Learning Institute in McKeesport 4-6pm. At the Lake ministries on Lake Erie 6-8pm. Or prayer wherever you are.
Bible School. VBS and Adventure Camp will be June 11th – 15th from 9am until noon. We are in need of teachers and helpers. If you have any questions please see Laurie Deem.
Life Choices. Once again we will be collecting change for Life Choices using baby bottles. We will be doing this from Mother’s Day, May 13th through Father’s Day, June 17th.
Used Shoes. Once again we will be collecting slightly used shoes to benefit the Erie United Methodist Alliance and All God’s Children Ministries. We will be collecting now through June 3rd. There will be bags at the entrance of the church to collect them. Much of these ministries work with the homeless and children.
Relay for Life of Indiana County will have their annual walk of June 2nd from 10am to midnight. It will be held at the Indiana White Township Rec. Park at 497 East Pike Road. Everyone is welcome to come and walk the track during those hours to help support cancer research and care for patients and their families. At 5:30 a survivor lap is scheduled and a dinner will follow. In addition, you can purchase a luminaria to honor a cancer survivor or in memory of a loved one lost to cancer. Graduation Tea. Once again we will be having a graduation tea for our graduate’s on June 3rd. If you know of anyone graduating this year. Please let Bev Duncan know their name. Also if anyone would like to donate cookies for the tea or can help set up on that Sunday. Please let Bev know. Thank You.
Bible School is in need of empty plastic water bottles for on the their crafts. Any questions please see Jenny Ressler.
Lawn Festival. The lawn festival this year will be Aug. 11th , from 5pm-? Any questions please see Sue Plowman.
The Food Bank during the month of May is Rice. Roger Brehm is the contact person. If you prefer to pay by check, make it payable to United Food Pantry. Continue to bring in your paper grocery bags. Please no plastic bags.
